A calmer space, with a little more support.Some children are based within Nurture, while others can access the room when they need a quieter environment, additional guidance or more focused one-to-one support. Its flexible approach gives children time, reassurance and individual attention when they need it.

At its latest graded inspection in March 2025, Tiny Toez East Staffs was judged Good overall, with Good judgements across all four inspection areas.
Inspectors highlighted secure relationships, engaging experiences, children's growing independence, nutritious food and improvements made to support children with SEND.
The inspection recognised positive practice across education, children's development, behaviour and the leadership of the nursery.

A warm welcome at the door.
Abi Hurmson leads the team at Tiny Toez East Staffs, bringing extensive experience in early years management alongside a Level 7 Advanced Diploma in Childcare and Teaching.
As a mum herself, Abi understands how important it is for families to feel confident that their child is safe, happy and enjoying their time at nursery.
Her aim is to create a warm, welcoming environment where children feel secure, families feel listened to and practitioners are supported to provide consistent, high-quality care.

Elizabeth has worked in childcare for more than 30 years and now leads the Baby Room at East Staffs, a role she particularly enjoys.

Staffordshire County Council have updated their flowchart for childcare funding options, making it much easier to see what support you might be entitled to! 👶✨
Whether you’re looking into funded hours for working parents (from 9 months to 4 years old), universal 15 hours for 3–4 year olds, or Think2 funding, here is how to check your eligibility and claim:
How to Claim Your Funding:
1️⃣ Check what you can get: Visit the government’s Childcare Choices website (childcarechoices.gov.uk) or Staffordshire County Council’s childcare page to view the new flowchart.
2️⃣ Apply for your code: If applying for Working Parent Entitlement or Think2 funding, complete your application online to receive your unique eligibility code.
3️⃣ Take your code to your childcare provider: Give your code, along with your National Insurance number and child’s date of birth, to your nursery, pre-school, or childminder so they can verify it.
4️⃣ Reconfirm every 3 months: Don't forget—if you're on the Working Parent Entitlement, you must reconfirm your details via your online account every 3 months to keep your funding active! 🗓️

🌟 Exciting Changes in Big Toez! 🌟
Following some recent team training, we’ve been making some wonderful updates to our playroom to help your little ones lead their own learning and curiosity!
Here’s what’s new:
Messy Play All-in-One: Instead of keeping sand, water, and messy play separate, we’ve combined them into one big exploration station! Children can now mix, match, and experiment with resources in all sorts of creative new ways.
Creative Hub: We’ve merged our playdough and craft areas into one bustling creative space with plenty of tables. Now, children can combine playdough with traditional art materials whenever inspiration strikes!
Space to Imagine: We’ve left some open, flexible areas so the children can take the lead and decide how they want to use the space each day.
We’re loving watching their independence and imaginations flourish. Next time you drop off or pick up, take a look! 😊

Dear Parents and Carers,
At Tiny Toez @ East Staffs, the safety, well-being, and happiness of your little ones are always our top priorities. To help us maintain a secure and peaceful environment where the children can play, learn, and thrive, we have introduced a new Safe & Calm Nursery Guide (displayed by the entrance!).
We kindly ask all families to take a quick moment to review these three important reminders:
🚪 Secure Entry (No Tailgating): Please ensure the main door securely closes behind you and do not let other people into the building—even if they look familiar. Every visitor and parent must be verified by a member of staff or use their own authorized access.
🙏 Respectful Arrivals: Mornings and pick-ups can be busy, but arriving mindfully and being patient with staff and other families sets a wonderful, positive example for the children.
🚪 Gentle Knocks Only: When arriving at your child's room, please tap gently on the door. Heavy knocking or banging can be very loud, disruptive, and can easily frighten the children inside during their play or transition times.

🌞As the warmer weather continues, we are focusing on sun safety here at Tiny Toez @ East Staffs. We’ve just put up our new "Family Sun Safe Promise" poster to ensure our team and your families are on the same page about staying protected while having fun outdoors!🌞
Our top tips for home and nursery:
Think B-E-E-N-S: Remember to apply sunscreen to those easy-to-miss spots: Back of knees, Ears, Eye area, Neck & Nose, and Scalp.
Plan Around the Peak: Where possible, try to avoid outdoor activity during the sun's strongest hours between 11 am and 3 pm.
Dress for Success: Please ensure your children come with sun hats (legionnaire style is best) and loose, lightweight clothing that covers their shoulders.
Lead by Example: Children love to copy us! By wearing our own hats and sunscreen, we show them just how easy and important it is to stay safe in the sun.

Eligible working families
Eligible working parents may receive up to 30 funded hours, subject to government rules.
All 3 & 4 year olds
All 3 and 4 year olds can access 15 funded hours under the universal entitlement.
Added for every £8
Eligible families can receive a government top-up towards approved childcare costs.
