Anti-Bullying Policy
At Tiny Toez we are committed to providing a safe, caring and friendly environment for all children in our care. Bullying of any kind is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.
What Is Bullying?
Bullying is behaviour by an individual or group, usually repeated over time, that intentionally hurts another individual or group either physically or emotionally.
Bullying can take many forms:
Being unfriendly, excluding, tormenting — such as hiding belongings or threatening gestures
Pushing, kicking, hitting, punching or any use of violence
Racial taunts, graffiti or gestures
Unwanted physical contact or sexually abusive comments
Because of, or focussing on the issue of sexuality
Name-calling, sarcasm, spreading rumours or teasing — whether direct or indirect
Misuse of internet, email, chat rooms, mobile phones, social media, cameras, tablets or games consoles
Bullying may be related to:
- Race
- Religion
- Culture
- SEN or disability
- Appearance or health condition
- Home circumstances
- Sexual orientation, sexism, or sexual bullying
Bullying can take place within the nursery, in the outdoor play area, toilets, on trips, out in the community, at home and in cyberspace.
Bullies and Victims
Bullying takes place where there is an imbalance of power of bully over victim. This can be achieved by:
- The size of the individual
- The strength of the individual
- The numbers or group size involved
- Anonymity — through the use of cyber bullying, email, social networking sites or texts
Children may not be aware that they are being bullied; they may be too young or have Special Educational Needs. Staff should be able to identify children who may be vulnerable and who could fall victim to bullying, as well as those who may demonstrate bullying behaviour.
Signs and Symptoms
A child may indicate by signs or behaviour that he or she is being bullied. Adults should be aware of these possible signs and investigate if a child:
How We Respond
Here at Tiny Toez we take bullying seriously. All known and reported incidences of bullying will be investigated by a member of staff.
All reported incidents will be fully investigated by a member of staff. Parents of the victim may also be questioned about the incident or general concerns.
The bully will be asked to genuinely apologise and their parents will be informed about their child's behaviour.
In some cases, outside agencies may be requested to support the nursery or family — such as the police or a counsellor.
In serious cases, suspension or even exclusion will be considered. Where possible, children will be reconciled.
All incidents will be recorded on an incident form to ensure repeated bullying does not take place.
Our Commitment to Positive Behaviour
At Tiny Toez staff actively encourage children to have respect for each other and for other people's property. Good, kind and polite behaviour is regularly acknowledged and rewarded.
Staff will sometimes discuss bullying during circle time, story time or small group activities. This informs children that we are serious about dealing with bullying and leads to open conversations and increased confidence in children to want to discuss bullying. Staff will reinforce expectations of behaviour as a regular discussion.

Canal walks 🦆☀️
We’re so lucky to be less than a 5-minute walk from the canal! Our little ones love feeding the ducks, watching the swans glide by, and keeping their eyes peeled for ducklings.
These simple outings provide so many wonderful learning opportunities. From talking about wildlife and habitats to counting birds, describing what we see, and practising kindness and respect for nature, every visit becomes a chance to learn through play and exploration.
Fresh air, curious minds, and happy memories. We couldn't ask for a better local adventure! 🌿🦢

Overall a fantastic nursery, he skips into the nursery and looks forward to every day he goes there, which as a parent is the most important thing. The nursery staff have been excellent from when he was 12 months old to now 3 years old in developing his life skills, vocabulary, learning ability etc.
The classrooms are large with plenty of things for the children to do and the playgrounds are also very good.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Tiny Toez.

Families in England with children aged 3 to 4 years can access 15 hours of funded childcare per week during term time.
30 Hours Funded Childcare
Eligible working families may be able to access up to 30 hours of funded childcare for children aged 9 months to 4 years.
